Lake Macquarie City Council's Donations program offers financial assistance to not-for-profit groups and organisations with strong local membership or participation.

The program supports projects that deliver clear benefits to the Lake Macquarie community and align with Council's values and vision.

The maximum donation available each financial year is $2,000.

Confirmed dates for Council's review of applications are listed below:

Round 1 (26-27 Financial Year) - Submit applications by: 19 July 2026 (applications received after this date will move to the next available round)

Round 2 - (26-27 Financial Year) - Submit applications by: 8 January 2027 (applications received after this date will move to the next available round)

To be eligible for a donation from Council the following criteria must be met: 

• Applicants must complete the prescribed application form. 
• The project must be undertaken in Lake Macquarie local government area and demonstrate significant local benefit. 
• Applicants must provide evidence of not-for-profit status. 
• Applications for a donation must be for a specific purpose and not be considered as a recurrent source of future funding. 
• All relevant information requested in the application form must be provided. 
• The activity or project must commence in the financial year in which the donation is bought and granted. 
• Funds must be used for the purpose for which they were granted. 
• Applicants must obtain all appropriate permits, approvals and insurance relating to their project. 
• The project must not already be supported by a different ‘Funding from Council’ or ‘Sponsorship from Council’ program
