Purpose

The Help for Community Organisations [H4O] grant scheme is intended to support and strengthen communities across South Gippsland Water’s service region. 

Overview

As a state owned Corporation and through this grant program, South Gippsland Water supports local, not for profit and community groups improve health and water consumption, livability, strong communities and sustainable water use across the region.

Groups, who are completing a community or educational project, and can demonstrate that the project assists in either strengthening community, increasing tap water consumption or sustainable water use, are welcome to apply for a grant of up to $500.00.

Limitations

Conditions of applications

  • Non profit community groups and organisations are eligible for a H4O grant. Individuals are not eligible to apply.
  • Applications for H4O grants will only be considered for projects judged to be contributing to the 3 funding categories;
    • Sustainable Water Use
    • Strengthening Community/Improved Liveability
    • Encouraging Tap Water Consumption
  • Applications must be for projects with tangible outcomes within South Gippsland Water’s service region.
  • South Gippsland Water may release information relating to H4O grant projects for the purpose of public information. Subject to agreement by organisation and consistent with privacy legislation.
  • Grants of up to $500.00 may be awarded, depending on the nature of the project as described in the application.
  • Funds can be directed to a new project or complete additional elements to an existing project. 
  • Members and staff of South Gippsland Water and not eligible for a H4O grant.
  • The applicant agrees to notify South Gippsland Water when the project is complete.
  • The applicant agrees to display recognition of the H4O grant at the completion of the project.
  • The applicant agrees to permit access to the project site by appointment for the purpose of viewing the H4O project.
  • The applicant agrees to keep records of the H4O project, including photographs
  • The applicant agrees to maintain the H4O project area and associated works or assets in a manner consistent with achieving the outcomes stated in this application
