Non-profit organisations (NPO) impacted by the January 2024 northern region flooding can apply to access a one-off grant.

You can apply for a one-off grant of up to $10,000 to repair or replace an asset that:

• was controlled by an NPO before the declared disaster event
• will bring future economic benefits to the NPO
• was significantly damaged as a direct result of the disaster event
• has no alternative funding source to rectify the damage and used any available cash reserve or insurance prior to seeking assistance.

Who can apply?

NPO's impacted by the January 2024 northern region flooding (Australian Government reference number 1103) in the local government area of:

• Victoria Daly
• Barkly
• Litchfield
• Roper Gulf
• West Arnhem.

Eligibility

• must be incorporated under the Northern Territory or Commonwealth legislation and be registered with the Australian Charities and Not for Profits Commission (ACNC)
• is compliant with its obligations under ACNC and its governing legislation
• is a Territory Enterprise;
• holds a valid Australian Business Number;
• was carried on within the Northern Territory eligible impacted area at the time it incurred losses;
• must declare it will continue operations in the same location or local government area;
• must provide sufficient evidence its operation was financial viable within two years prior to the declaration of the eligible event.
• must declare it has not received and is not entitled to receive any grant, compensation or other monetary amount intended to assist with recovery from the disaster the subject of this Program, from any governmental or non-governmental body or source; and
• is not an Excluded Entity.
