Purpose
Community Grants support community-based groups and service organisations to develop effective activities that address the social, economic and/or environmental needs of residents in the Newcastle Local Government Area.
Overview
There are four streams available withing the Community Support Grant:
- Arts, Culture and History
- Environment
- Social Inclusion
- Sustainability
The information here is for the Environment stream:
Environment:
Supports activities that improve Newcastle's environment by expanding our urban forest through revegetation initiatives, greening streets, parks and open space and providing increased pollinator habitat throughout the city and/or the improvement of existing Community Garden infrastructure.
Funding: $2,000 to $20,000
Limitations
Elibible entities:
- Legally constituted not-for-profit organisations
- Small businesses
- Individuals must be auspiced by eligible entity
- Voluntary run groups
- Community gardens groups
