Purpose
The Program is a devolved grant, funding up to 6 First Nations businesses or organisations, as Delivery Partners. Delivery Partners will, with communities, undertake a co-design process to identify projects aligned with local priorities.
Overview
The $12 million (GST exclusive) in program funding will be available to Delivery Partners, who then provide the funds to suitable sub-grantees (that they have identified) to deliver on-ground projects developed through co-design. Delivery Partners will work with First Nations businesses, organisations and communities (their sub-grantees) to deliver drought and climate focused projects.
The Program is a devolved grant, meaning Delivery Partners will not deliver the projects directly on-ground, but will work with local First Nations peoples to identify and co-design projects, and administer the distribution of funds for those projects.
Delivery Partners can apply for administrative funding to design the project(s) and manage project activities and must apply for Project funding to distribute to sub-grantees for project activities in communities (see section 3 of the guidelines for details). Delivery Partners must create opportunities for First Nations peoples to apply for different amounts of funding proportionate to the scale of the activities proposed, and these activities must be consistent with the Program's outcomes.
