Purpose
Funding is available for organisations that support young Victorians (0-25 years) and their families to achieve good health and wellbeing.
Overview
Funding can be used to scale, grow or improve existing initiatives, or pilot new ideas that help break down the barriers for children, young people (aged 0-25) and their families to be as healthy as possible.
Applications must respond to one of the following challenges:
- Creating opportunities to participate in sport and active recreation across Victorian neighbourhoods, leading to benefits for active living, mental wellbeing and belonging.
- Strengthening local food systems by creating new or improved places for communities to access, procure, grow and share healthy, local and culturally appropriate fresh foods.
Initiatives will be funded for a maximum of 2 years and will need to be delivered between March 2026 and March 2028. Funding available:
- Tier 1: $10,000-$50,000
- About 50 to 60 grants will be funded.
- Tier 2: $50,001-$150,000
- About 15 to 20 grants will be funded.
Limitations
The funder welcomes applications from sporting, community, cultural, recreational and creative organisations, and other not-for-profit organisations planning to undertake activity in Victoria.
To be eligible, organisations must have an active Australian Business Number (ABN) and be registered as one of the following organisation types:
- incorporated body (legal name commonly includes 'Association', 'Cooperative' or 'Inc.')
- company limited by guarantee (legal name commonly includes 'Ltd')
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander corporation registered on ORIC
- Victorian local government council
- organisation established by Acts of Parliament.
Please note, VicHealth supports efforts to increase representation of women on boards across Victoria's sport and active recreation sector. To be eligible for funding, certain sporting organisations 2 , are required to have a minimum of 40% self-identified female representation on your organisation's governing body. This requirement does not apply to community sporting clubs, leagues or associations.
