Purpose
The Queensland Feral Pest Initiative Exclusion Fencing Grants Scheme (the Scheme) will provide funding for the construction of exclusion fencing in rural and remote areas.
Overview
- The Scheme will be delivered by the Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority (QRIDA).
Available funding
- $3 million is available to fund grants under the Scheme.
- Each grant can be up to $5,000 for each kilometre of eligible exclusion fencing, up to a maximum of 50kms ($250,000).
- Funding must be matched by a minimum 50% co-contribution from the applicant.
- Grants are subject to the availability of funding and applying for a grant is no guarantee that funding will be approved.
Limitations
To be eligible, you must:
- be the landholder of a business involving grazing livestock (cattle, goats or sheep) in an eligible rural area
- hold an Australian Business Number
- be able to demonstrate that you:
- can provide a co-contribution of at least half the cost of your project
- have suffered significant loss of income as a result of the predation of livestock by wild dogs
- have adequate experience or qualifications and a reasonable prospect of successfully completing your project.
