Purpose
The Tasmanian Government is providing financial assistance to individuals and families displaced from their residence due to a bushfire emergency event.
Overview
Eligible applicants may receive:
- $250 per adult (18 years and over)
- $125 per child (under 18 years)
- Up to a maximum of $1,000 per family.
This support can help them pay for essential needs such as temporary shelter, clothing, food, transport and personal items.
PLEASE NOTE this program may end before or after the publicised date.
Limitations
Individuals and families must reside in areas impacted by the emergency event. The eligible areas are:
- Glenlusk and surrounds (Derwent Valley and Glenorchy City Councils)
- Levendale and surrounds (Southern Midlands Council)
- Dolphin Sands and surrounds (Glamorgan-Spring Bay Council)
The individual or family must have been:
- directed or advised by a relevant authority (for example, Fire, SES or Police) to evacuate from their residence, or
- displaced from their place of residence due to the emergency event, or
- unable to return to their place of residence due to the emergency event.
