Purpose
The Communities Climate Action Grants Program funds projects that empower local community groups to undertake actions that reduce emissions in the ACT and/or prepare communities for the impacts of climate change.
Overview
The Communities Climate Action Grants Program supports the ACT Government's commitment to working collaboratively with the ACT community to achieve our climate change goals and become a climate ready city.
Grants are awarded to projects that:
- support diverse social groups to take action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
- support diverse social groups to become climate ready by increasing adaptation measures to climate change impacts
- report on community reach, awareness, and subsequent action as a result of the project.
Limitations
The program is open to applicants in the ACT who:
- are not-for-profit community groups
- are individuals and non-incorporated groups with an incorporated community organisation sponsor (auspicing organisation)
- have an active ABN and public liability insurance.
