Purpose

This funding, as part of the Stronger Communities Program, is designed to provide financial support for organisations to deliver projects that provide opportunities to meet social, cultural, recreational, or environmental outcomes for the Redland City community.

Overview

The grant provides financial support to help:

  • Improved community wellbeing - Supporting initiatives that enhance physical, mental, and emotional health across the community
  • Stronger social connections & inclusion - Building skills, fostering participation, and creating opportunities for all community members to feel included and valued
  • Sustainable & resilient environment - Promoting conservation and sustainability to protect natural resources and strengthen environmental resilience

The Community Support grant is open from 23 February to 22 March 2026.

Outcomes will be provided to applicants within 8 weeks of the grant closure date.

Limitations

To be eligible for funding, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Legal status:

  • Be a not-for-profit incorporated entity or registered under an Act of Parliament. If not-for-profit status cannot be clearly identified through public registers (ABN Look Up), applicant may then be asked to submit supporting documents such as (but not limited to) a copy of the organisation's governing documents to verify the organisation's not-for-profit objectives

Business requirements:

  • Hold an active ABN or complete a Statement by a Supplier form
  • Be operating and financially viable
  • Maintain Public Liability Insurance of $20 million
  • Have a bank account in the name of the legal entity

Individual requirements:

  • Individuals may apply only for conservation activities and must be:
  • registered wildlife carer with the Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI) or equivalent
  • demonstrate you have been an active carer for at least 12 months
  • comply with the 'Code of Practice: Care of sick, injured or orphaned protected animals in Queensland'. Refer to the Department of Environment and Heritage Protections website at: http://www.ehp.qld.gov.au/wildlife/caring-for-wildlife/
