Purpose
Biannual Grants are part of Moonee Valley City Council's Community Grants program, which aims to contribute to the health and wellbeing of the municipality.
Overview
Biannual Community Grants include the following streams:
- First Peoples Grants: Supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People and organisations to deliver local projects.
- up to $10,000
- Social Support Grants: Operational funding for small social support groups run by volunteers. (see separate listing for this stream here)
- Community Projects Grants: One-off community projects, pilot programs and small capital works.
- up to $10,000
- Climate Action Grants: Renewable energy transitions and community projects promoting climate resilience.
- up to $10,000
- Arts and Events Grants: Arts projects and events or festivals that benefit the Moonee Valley community.
- up to $10,000
- Business Projects Grants: Small storefront and outdoor space beautification and inclusion or collaboration projects
- up to $5,000
The Biannual Community Grants funding pool includes all streams. Across all streams there is $447,020 available in the financial year 2025-26. Opportunities to apply are open twice in this financial year, in July 2025 and February 2026.
Limitations
To be eligible to receive a Biannual Community Grant, your grant project/ event/ activities must:
- Take place within Moonee Valley, or
- Support a community group that operates within Moonee Valley.
- If you are a Business Projects Grant applicant, the business benefiting from the grant must be located within Moonee Valley. Some grant streams have additional criteria.
