Purpose

To support individuals, volunteers, community groups, sport and recreation clubs and religious organisations to deliver local projects that contribute to improved management of the metropolitan Adelaide environment.

Overview

Grants from $2,000 to $200,000 will be available for local projects that contribute to a cooler, greener and wilder Adelaide. The total value of the Grassroots Grants Program for Green Adelaide in 2026-27 is up to $1m.

To apply, all projects must contribute to one of the Board's regional priorities and focus areas: 

  • Coast and marine
  • Inland waters
  • Urban neighbourhoods

Limitations

Applications can be received from:

  • an incorporated community group or organisation (or a non-incorporated group with a sponsor)  a not-for-profit organisation
  • sporting and recreation organisations
  • religious organisations
  • schools and universities
  • an incorporated Aboriginal organisation (or a non-incorporated group with a sponsor)

If you are an individual, a sole trader or not a legal entity you will need to seek sponsorship from a legal entity that is prepared to take responsibility for the legal and financial accountability of the project.
