Purpose
Through the GreenSafe Grants program, the Hills and Fleurieu Landscape Board is offering financial support to environmental volunteer groups and schools that are working to improve landscapes at the local level.
Overview
Hills and Fleurieu Landscape Board GreenSafe Grants offer up to $500 to volunteer groups and schools for personal protective equipment or minor tools to support safe environmental work.
These grants are offered twice per year and are available to volunteer groups working on environmental projects and local schools committed to significant environmental initiatives..
Groups and schools can apply for funding up to $500 to cover purchase of basic needs such as:
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Minor tools, equipment and materials (please contact us if you wish to apply for herbicide)
- First aid materials/kits
Please note schools and volunteer groups will be separated into their own funding streams for this grant round.
Limitations
Eligible applicants will need to:
- be an environmental volunteer group or school* working at the local level to deliver not-for-profit environmental project/s; or environmental learning to children.
- not have received a GreenSafe Grant in the same financial year
- be a legal entity and have a bank account; or have a willing sponsor
- ensure projects contribute to one or more of the Priorities and Focus Areas in the Hills and Fleurieu Landscape Plan
- be undertaking activities within our geographic region (contact us if unsure). Hills and Fleurieu Landscape Board region
- ensure they do not have an outstanding GreenSafe Grant acquittal.
*Schools need to demonstrate that the items being applied for are for dedicated environmental activities (i.e. not for other more general school purposes e.g. grounds-keeping).
