Overview

The key objectives of the Ichthys Coastal Management Grants are to:

  • implement management actions that improve the conservation of dugongs, cetaceans and threatened marine Matters of National Environmental Significance and their habitat

These grants are for both project-based work, and purchase of capital items, equipment and infrastructure.

$1.5 million is available for new projects in 2026.

Eligibility

The Ichthys Coastal Management Grants are open to Aboriginal organisations, including Ranger Groups, Land Councils and Aboriginal-controlled incorporated associations that are registered or incorporated within the NT, and which have a clearly identified role in management and conservation on Aboriginal land and seas.
