Purpose

The Community Grants Program is a new approach to community investment, designed to provide a fair, transparent and equitable process for distributing funding to local organisations, clubs and community groups making a positive difference across our region.

Overview

Funding requests may be submitted under the following streams:

  • Small Grants: Up to $5,000
  • Major Grants: $5,001 to $20,000

The Community Bank may award full or partial funding and reserves the right not to allocate the entire funding pool if suitable applications are not received.

Funding Streams

  • Small Grants - Up to $5,000 Supports grassroots projects, community initiatives, equipment purchases and local programs that deliver direct community benefit.
  • Major Grants - $5,001 up to $20,000 Supports larger-scale projects, infrastructure, strategic initiatives, and programs that demonstrate significant and lasting community impact.

Applications over $5,000 will require additional supporting documentation and assessment. 

Eligibility

All applications MUST meet the following criteria:
1. Address at least one Community Impact Strategic Priority:

1) Environment & Sustainability
2) Children & Youth
3) Sport & Recreation
4) Volunteer Services

2. Be a not-for-profit, non-government organisation with a valid ABN OR be auspiced
by an eligible organisation.
3. If auspiced, the partner organisation must: - Support the project in writing - Receive and administer funds - Apply funds solely to the project
4. Demonstrate clear community benefit and support.
5. Grant funds will only be paid into an account held with Community Bank Busselton
& Dunsborough. Applicants who do not currently bank with the Community Bank
must be willing to establish an account if funding is approved.
6. Any existing sponsorship, naming rights or exclusive partnership arrangements
with another financial institution must be disclosed and may be considered as part
of the assessment process.
7. Activities must primarily benefit the Busselton & Dunsborough communities.
8. Agree to enter into a formal funding agreement.
9. Agree to complete a project acquittal.
10. Submit complete application including all required documentation.
11. Engage with Community Bank Busselton & Dunsborough, Bendigo Bank prior to
submission.
12. Project must be completed within agreed timeframe.
13. Demonstrate effort to source alternative funding, where applicable.
14. Provide approvals for any infrastructure or building works where required.
