Overview

Projects designed to respond to the City's Climate Change Response Plan 2021-30 by

  • increasing greening Greater Geelong, including tree planting and habitat restoration.

  • building community awareness about how a changing climate affects us.

  • boosting energy efficiency and local renewable energy generation.

  • supporting the transition to a net zero emissions municipality by 2035.

  • encouraging a shift to sustainable transport and cleaner fuels.

  • helping store more carbon naturally through soils and vegetation.

Our focus this year is greening Greater Geelong through planting trees, creating biodiverse landscapes, and expanding green spaces. These efforts contribute to stronger, healthier neighbourhoods while building resilience to the impacts of a changing climate.
