Purpose
Backing the Future is an exciting grant initiative that provides funding for individuals to test new ideas aimed at improving the lives of young people across remote, rural, and regional NSW and QLD.
Overview
These grants enable recipients to develop and test early-stage initiatives that are:
- individual-led projects
- trialling and delivering new ideas
- led by and/or supporting young people aged 12-30
- located in remote, rural or regional communities
This round is for NSW only. The next Queensland Round will open in January 2027.
Eligibility
VFFF use the Modified Monash Model (MMM) to determine geographic eligibility for the BTF grant within QLD and NSW. Eligible projects must take place in regional, rural and remote communities (MM 2-7) outside of metropolitan areas (MM 1). View an interactive map here and overview of MMM areas here.
