The aim of these grants is to encourage, develop and support local projects of a community, cultural, environmental, recreational, or sporting nature which demonstrate broad-based benefit to all the residents of the district.

The District Council of Cleve actively promotes and encourages not-for-profit community groups in achieving their goals, enhancing infrastructure and investing in the local district. The Council receives funding requests from various community organisations and groups. The Community Grant Program aims to allocate funding in a fair and effective manner. This is based on the individual merits of each request to address priority community needs.

Community Grant Funding of up to $10,000 is available to not-for-profit groups within the District Council of Cleve. Larger projects may be considered by Council.

What projects are more favourable:

• New Infrastructure: Permanent community assets that provide ongoing benefit
• Operational Equipment: Equipment that enhances community service delivery capacity
• Regional Events: Events that attract regional participation and provide community benefit.

• Not for profit and non-government entities.
• Incorporated groups.
• Club or group operating/conducting business in the District Council of Cleve.
• Active Operations - Must have been in operation for at least one year prior to the grant application submission date, demonstrating active engagement in community activities.
• Health Check - Organisations must be able to demonstrate various aspects of governance, management, operational practices and premises compliance.
• Financial Transparency - Must demonstrate financial transparency, including the submission of audited financial statements or financial reports to the council.
• Community Engagement - Must provide evidence of active engagement with the local community, membership, including participation in community events, outreach programs, and stakeholder consultations.
• Alignment with Council Priorities - Proposed projects or initiatives must align with the strategic priorities and objectives outlined by the council, demonstrating a clear contribution to community development, wellbeing, and sustainability.
