Purpose
ATCO Communities Fund allows eligible community groups and not for profit organisations to apply for sponsorships of up to $10,000 to assist with local community projects and initiatives.
Overview
The ATCO Communities Fund provides sponsorships of up to $10,000 to eligible community groups and not-for-profit organisations delivering projects that create meaningful local impact.
From 2026, the Communities Fund will transition to a year-round application model, providing greater flexibility for community organisations and enabling us to respond more effectively to community needs as they arise throughout the year.
Projects must align with one or more of the three community focus areas:
- Empowering Communities:
- Thriving First Nations Communities:
- Connected and Inclusive Communties:
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Hold a current Australian Business Number (ABN).
- Operate on a not for profit basis, with any surplus reinvested into achieving the organisation's purpose rather than distributed to members or shareholders.
- Deliver projects that directly benefit communities within ATCO Australia's areas of operation within Western Australia and/or South Australia.
- Be one of the following:
- Incorporated not-for-profit organisation (including incorporated associations, Parents & Citizens' Associations (P&Cs), companies limited by guarantee, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander corporations that operate on a not-for-profit basis)
- Registered Charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC)
- Local Government authority applying for a project that delivers a demonstrated community benefit beyond its core responsibilities.
- Auspiced Applications: Unincorporated community groups may apply through an eligible auspice organisation that meets the above eligibility requirements and agrees to accept legal and financial responsibility for the grant.
