Purpose
Greenweb grants are provided to restore or improve bushland on private properties.
Overview
Greenweb grants are provided to restore or improve bushland on private properties. This includes:
- removing invasive weeds
- regeneration and revegetation of natural bushland with native flora
- stabilising creek banks and slopes
- creating or protecting native wildlife habitats.
There is a limited budget for this program ($20,000) and a statutory requirement that it be used for those properties that are in the Greenweb network as identified in Sutherland Shire Council's Development Control Plan. Assistance will also be prioritised according to conservation value and the council will look more favourably on joint applications, i.e. with neighbouring properties.
Eligibility
Residents within the Greenweb network are eligible to apply for a Greenweb Grant to help with ecological restoration on their property.
