Purpose

The Regional Capability Community Fund (RCCF) supports improved community safety and local fire-response capability in regional, remote, and rural South Australia.

Overview

Round 5 (2026-27) of the RCCF will build on previous rounds by making $500,000 available to continue to support South Australian landholders to better equip themselves to safely respond to fire emergencies, in line with the CFS FFU Handbook.

Funding is divided into three streams, each with a maximum allocation and reimbursement as follows:

  • Fire Fightling Unit (FFU) - Max Reimbursement $5,000 - Max Allocation $250,000
  • Safety Equipment - Max Reimbursement $1,000 - Max Allocation $150,000
  • Other Equipment - Max Reimbursement $1,000 - Max Allocation $100,000

Eligibility

Applications will be accepted from:

  • Individual farmers
  • Farming businesses or rural landholders

Additionally:

  • applicants must not have received funding from the RCCF in the previous 2 years
  • applicants must be a registered FFU at the time of application (proof of registration will be required during the application process)

Applicants unable to apply:

  • Applicants who have received funding from the RCCF program in the previous two rounds (2024/25 & 2025/26) are not eligible to apply in the 2026-27 round
  • Applicants who are not a registered FFU
  • Community groups or entities other than individual farmers and/or farming businesses
