Purpose
The Grazing Management Grant will assist primary producers in the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board (NYLB) region to undertake fencing and/or water infrastructure projects to improve grazing practices.
Overview
The maximum funding (GST exclusive) available to primary producers is $10 per hectare improved* up to a maximum of $5,000.
- *Grazing practices must be improved to a minimum level at or comparable to halving the duration of grazing in the paddock(s). E.g. installing fencing to split a 500ha paddock in half would be eligible for up to $10 x 500ha = $5,000.
Eligible activities include:
- Internal fencing - wire, posts, gates
- Water infrastructure - troughs and associated pipes, tanks, valves
Eligibility
Grazing Management Grants are intended for primary producers that:
- hold a current Australian Business Number (ABN).
- hold a minimum of $1,000,000 in public liability insurance cover and maintain insurance cover for the duration of the project. It is the primary producer's responsibility to assess and consider the risks and ensure adequate insurance is in place.
- own or manage a primary production enterprise within the NYLB region and must be willing to enter into a standard grant agreement. No work shall commence until the grant agreement has been signed by all parties
- receive the majority (>50%) of total income from primary production under normal seasonal circumstances.
- have not received funding from other Commonwealth and/or State Government programs for the proposed grant activities
- have not received an on-farm dry time grant from the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board in 2024, 2025 or 2026*
- have not received funding through the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board's Stronger Country project.
