Purpose

The Bupa Foundation Community Grants program funds and supports innovative, capable organisations working to prevent and control disease.

Overview

Through grants of $10,000, $25,000 and $50,000, they invest in initiatives that improve health and wellbeing in the communities across Australia and New Zealand.

Key focus areas include:

  • Healthier People: Improving health and wellbeing through prevention, connection and resilience
  • Healthier Communities: Advancing health equity, inclusion and wellbeing for First Nations peoples and vulnerable communities
  • Healthier Planet: Improving health through nature, environmental restoration and climate resilience

Applications will be accepted for the following grant streams:

  • Stream 1: One-off grants of $10,000 (20 grants available)
  • Stream 2: One-off grants of $25,000 (10 grants available)
  • Stream 3: One-off grants of $50,000 (6 grants available)

Eligibility

Organisation Eligibility

  • Applicants must be registered in Australia or New Zealand as a not-for-profit or charitable organisation, through the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) or Charities Services
  • Applicants must have a current ABN/NZBN.
  • Government Schools without charity status are eligible to apply
  • If the majority of your program participants are First Nations people, you must be a First Nations-led organisation or operate a First Nations-led program (i.e. 50% board/leadership representation)

Although not compulsory, it is preferred that organisations are:

  • (Australia) Endorsed by the ATO with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status and covered by Item 1 of the table in section 30-15 of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 (Cth). OR
  • (New Zealand) An approved donee organisation and registered under the Charities Act 2005.
