Primary Producers impacted by Severe Weather and Floods in Central Australia and Barly Region 2026 can claim freight subsidy disaster assistance.

You can apply for a grant of up to $5,000 to cover up to 50% of emergency transport freight costs associated with:

• moving emergency fodder or water for livestock
• removal of stock from the affected area
• replacement of buildings for livestock
• fencing repairs
• machinery and equipment associated with livestock
• replace animals lost from the event

To be eligible, the applicant:

1. is a Primary Producer as defined in the terms and conditions; and
2. is a Territory Enterprise; and
3. holds a valid Australian Business Number; and
4. has assets or stock that have been significantly damaged as a direct result of an eligible disaster; and
5. was operating in the Northern Territory at the time that it incurred losses in the eligible impacted area; and
6. declares operation will continue in the same location and Local Government Area (LGA) after the event; and
7. evidences the operation was financially viable within the two years prior to the declaration of the eligible event; and
8. evidences insurance arrangements are fully utilised or not available for the expenditure being claimed under this grant; and
9. evidences it has not received and is not entitled to receive any grant, compensation or other monetary amount intended to assist with recovery from the disaster the subject of this Program, from any governmental or non-governmental body or source; and
10. is not an Excluded Entity
