Purpose
The aim of this grant is to help private landowners plant indigenous plants on their property, create shelterbelts or restore areas that need help.
Overview
- space to plant at least 300 plants (planting area must be over 8m wide)
- clear space around your home and neighbouring properties as per CFA guidelines.
- time to prepare the area and plant
- a willingness to create a bush-style habitat
- a willingness to permanently protect the area from livestock with fencing.
You do all the site preparation and planting. We can help you with advice on preparing the site, controlling weeds and choosing plants.
Eligibility
You need to give us a plan of your property showing:
- property boundaries
- where buildings are (house and sheds)
- clear space around your home and neighbouring properties (as per CFA guidelines)
- where the planting will happen (shade this in)
- anything else that will help us look at your application.
- The plan can be hand-drawn with the information we need, including measurements.
