Purpose
There are multiple grants available to people in the process of buying a new home who meet the eligibility criteria.
Overview
Grant amount: various
- Up to $2,500 for legal and administrative costs.
- Up to $10,000 to match the house deposit you've saved.
- Up to $20,000 in co-contribution for eligible long-term AHO residents.
To apply you must email HomeOwnership@aho.nsw.gov.au and ask for a grant application form.
Limitations
To be eligible for a Home Ownership grant, you must be an Aboriginal person who:
- has saved at least $1,000 toward a deposit
- has a maximum individual or combined annual income of up to $200,000
- currently lives in NSW and is purchasing a property in NSW
- does not currently own residential property (unless it's land you intend to build on)
- has not qualified for Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) Remote Indigenous Home Loan package.
This grant is designed for people who are most in need and meet the eligibility criteria.
