The HESTA Australian Nursing & Midwifery Awards recognise nurses, midwives, nurse educators and researchers as well as personal care workers.

Award categories:

• Outstanding Organisation: This award recognises an organisation that has demonstrated a commitment to creating a better future for people working in nursing and/or midwifery.
• Midwife of the Year: This award recognises the outstanding performance of a midwife who delivers outstanding patient care and has delivered positive outcomes and performed above the expectations of their role.
• Nurse of the Year: This award recognises an exceptional nurse who delivers outstanding patient care and has delivered positive outcomes and performed above the expectations of their role.

The prize for finalists includes:

• 2 x tickets to attend the HESTA Australian Nursing & Midwifery Awards dinner to be held on the date listed in point 1 above,
• 1 x economy class airfare to the capital city where the awards dinner is held from the finalists' nearest capital city, and
• 1 night's accommodation in a standard twin share room at a hotel nominated by the HESTA Australian Nursing & Midwifery Awards organisers, close to the dinner venue.

Who can apply?

Employers, patients, colleagues, nurses and midwives can nominate themselves or a special individual or team who has made a real difference to the lives of patients or to the quality of a service.

Everyone involved in every stage of the delivery of care can enter or be nominated.
