Incubator grants provide seed funding for the early stages of innovative new research efforts, with the aim of generating preliminary data needed to support future grant applications.

MS Australia may announce up to two Incubator cycles each calendar year. Applications for Incubator Grant Round 1 closed 11:59pm AEDT 07 March 2025. The outcome for Round 1 will be announced in June/July 2025, with grants commencing in the second half of 2025. Applications for Incubator Grant Round 2 open on the 02 June 2025 and close 11:59pm AEDT 04 July 2025 with the outcome of Round 2 being announced in October/November 2025.

The number of Incubator grants awarded in each cycle will vary depending upon the funding available.

Funding Limit:  Up to $25,000

Eligibility: 

Applicants must:

• Be Australian or New Zealand citizens or permanent residents (permanent residency status to be confirmed by time the grant commences).
• Be undertaking research at an Australian research institution.
• Have research experience.
• Use the grant for project costs, consumables and personnel essential to the project. Funds may not be used for travel expenses or conference attendance.
