Purpose

The Arts and Culture grants program supports a range of arts and culture project such as performances, exhibitions, and festivals, to bring the work of Japanese artists, or Japanese arts and cultural content, to Australian audiences. 

Overview

Funding is distributed to non-profit organisations (individuals are not eligible to apply) to support a variety of high quality, traditional and contemporary content across Australia, and is subject to limited availability.

  • Exhibitions - This grant provides assistance to museums and key institutions for exhibitions, to be held in Australia, introducing Japanese art and culture. see application information here
  • Curatorial Research - This grant supports the development of professionals specialising in the study of Japanese art by providing an opportunity for curators and researchers from abroad to conduct research in Japan. see application information here
  • Bringing Artists from Japan - This grant provides assistance to groups or individuals in Japan who have received invitations to engage in cultural activities in Australia, or to organisations arranging these activities. see application information here
