Purpose

Multicultural community organisations will be able to apply for funding for physical infrastructure to support multicultural communities to connect and commune in a designated physical environment.

Overview

The Australian Government is investing up to $41.6 million to support multicultural communities with facilities to promote connection.

You can use this grant funding to construct, upgrade or extend infrastructure that demonstrates benefits to multicultural communities. This may include:

  • community hubs and centres
  • museums, libraries and art spaces
  • indoor and outdoor amenities, including food preparation areas, dining spaces, bathrooms and barbecue facilities
  • meeting and conference facilities
  • stages, auditoriums and spaces to encourage performing arts
  • spaces for sporting and physical activities.

You can submit only one application.

  • Batch 1 is open for applications until 4:00PM AEST on 18 May 2026.
  • Batch 2 is open for applications after 4:00pm AEST on 18 May 2026 and before 4:00 pm AEDT on 12 November 2026.

Limitations

To be eligible, you must be:

  • a not-for-profit organisation
  • a legal entity with the capacity to enter into a legally binding grant agreement with the Commonwealth; and
  • one of the following entity types:
    • Company
    • Cooperative
    • Incorporated Association
    • Indigenous Corporation
    • Statutory Entity.

If you are applying as a Trustee on behalf of a Trust, the Trustee must be one of the eligible entity types as listed above.

As a not-for-profit organisation, you may be asked to demonstrate your not-for-profit status through a current Australian Charities and Not for profits Commission's (ACNC) registration or a governing document with a relevant not-for-profit clause.
