The Innovation Events Fund supports innovation-driven organisations to deliver events that explore new or emerging innovations, opportunities or services.

The Fund aims to build the skills, capabilities, knowledge and connections of event participants, while contributing to the growth of Queensland's innovation sector. Through this Fund, the Queensland Government aims to establish a strong, inclusive, and mature innovation ecosystem that delivers prosperity to the state.

Grant funding of between $10,000 to $25,000 (excluding GST) is available for Queensland based organisations. The funding amount requested will cover up to 50% of the total cash expenditure budget to deliver the event. The applicant's co-contribution of at least 50% of the total event costs may include salaries as cash.

Eligible events must focus on supporting businesses or directly engaging with businesses that are developing innovative products, processes or services.Events must aim to build innovation capability and deliver outcomes in one or more of the following areas:

• Innovative solutions to existing problems
• New-to-world innovation
• Innovation diffusion
• Innovation in the Indigenous context.

To be eligible, your organisation must:

• Be a legal entity, such as a company, partnership, or incorporated association.
• Hold an active Australian Business Number (ABN).
• Be registered for Goods and Services Tax (GST).
• Be the event owner, with rights to the event and all relevant approvals to deliver it.
• Be headquartered in Queensland and operational over the previous 12 months.
• Hold public liability insurance of at least $20 million or have the ability to secure it prior to entering into a Funding Agreement.

Applicant organisations and their related corporate entities are limited to one application per funding round.
