Purpose
The objective of TTRA Drugs and Devices is to accelerate development and commercialisation of promising drugs and medical devices into products that can reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease and complications of diabetes for patients, carers, families, and community.
Overview
This opportunity is offered by the Commonwealth under the Targeted Translation Research Accelerator (TTRA) for Devices which forms part of the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF).
This opportunity is for Stream 2: Devices only.
The funding will be delivered using MTPConnect's purpose-built Accelerator model and can provide up to $1,000,000 non-dilutive investment to help small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs), including start-ups and spin-outs, accelerate into practice promising medical devices that reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease and complications of diabetes for patients, carers, families and communities.
The maximum funding term is 24 months. Applicants will be required to provide a cash co-contribution relative to the value of the TTRA funding request to be eligible. Additional in-kind or cash contributions above this threshold will be viewed favourably.
Limitations
For a proposal to be deemed eligible for this opportunity it must meet the following criteria:
The lead applicant must:
- be a registered Australian-based for-profit business
- be incorporated in Australia
- have an Australian Business Number (ABN)
- have less than 200 employees
- not be a technology transfer office/mechanism for a university of medical research institute, even with a unique ABN.
