Purpose
The National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Music Office (NATSIMO), with funding from Music Australia, is excited to announce the first series of LIFECYCLE Recording Grants, which will provide 14 grants of $20,000 towards high-quality recording sessions of new music by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander music creators.
Overview
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander music creators nationwide are invited to apply for the LIFECYCLE: Recording Grants.
10x grants of $20,000 are available, for high-quality recording sessions of at least eight tracks or thirty minutes of new, original music.
Applications are open now until Sunday 3 May 2026, with the grant to cover activity undertaken and completed between 13 July 2026 to 30 June 2027.
Limitations
The applicant/s must be able to confirm that they:
- Are of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.
- Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
- Are accepted as such by the community in which they live or formerly lived.
- Project activity must start and finish between 13 July 2026 & 30 June 2027.
