Purpose

The fund aims to deliver projects and activities that promote and raise awareness about the Polish community and its history. 

Overview

Donations will be available for the following purpose and activities: 

  • promoting and encouraging the learning of the Polish language in Australia
  • assistance in organising developmental and educational activities for Polish youth in Australia
  • supporting activities of Polish scouts in Australia
  • raising awareness of the Polish national identity, Polish culture, its history and current position in Australian society by promoting Polish literature, music and all other Polish art forms and traditions
  • supporting activities promoting Polish achievements through scientific, educational, publishing, exhibition and cultural projects
  • raising awareness of the contribution of Polish migrants to the developent of Australia and the development of Polish cultural/ historical heritage in Australia
  • supporting documentation of Polish community heritage and achievements in Australia

The Polish Community Council of Australia (PCCA) Perpetual Fund comprises the original General Juliusz Kleeberg Polish Community Fund in Australia (PCFA) established in 1964, moneys donated by two major benefactors, Mr Janusz Franckiewicz and Ms Natalia Kulakowska (incorporated in the Polish Perpetual Fund in 2012-18) and the Ewa Malewicz Fund.

Limitations

Organisations applying for a donation must:

  • Be a direct or indirect member of the Polish Ex-Servicemen's Association in Australia Incorporated (SPK); or/and be direct or indirect member of the Polish Community Council of Australia (PCCA).
  • Be non-profit and non-political; and
  • Keep proper accounting records and have, at least, yearly financial statement or reports; and
  • Provide information about ABN, tax status and GST registration, where applicable; and
  • Not be an agency of Local, State or Federal Government

Successful applicants must acknowledge The SPK Australia Foundation in all their promotional materials.
