Purpose

This Delivery Partnership will provide national services to Australian playwrights which strengthen the playwriting sector, support the development of Australian playwrights and plays, and support more Australian stories to reach the stage and connect with audiences.

Overview

Service organisations are invited to apply for up to $250,000 per annum for a total of $750,000 over the three-year investment period.

This opportunity aligns with pillars three, four and five of the National Cultural Policy - Centrality of the Artist; Strong Cultural Infrastructure; and Engaging the Audience.

This Delivery Partnership will provide national services to Australian playwrights which strengthen the playwriting sector, support the development of Australian playwrights and plays, and support more Australian stories to reach the stage and connect with audiences.

These services will contribute to:

  • the breadth, quality, ambition and diversity of Australian plays
  • development of craft and innovation within Australian playwriting
  • clearer pathways for Australian playwrights and plays
  • more sustainable careers for Australian playwrights
  • the promotion of, and advocacy for, Australian playwrights and plays.

Your proposal should consider partnerships and collaboration as a key mechanism to support delivery of proposed activities.

Limitations

Only service organisations may apply to this category. A consortium of organisations may apply in certain circumstances, but the proposal must be funded and contracted through one member of the consortium.

Creative Australia requires that organisations be registered under Australian law (for example, incorporated association or company limited by guarantee) or created by law (for example, a government statutory authority).

  • Organisations that are not legally constituted are not eligible to apply
  • Organisations that are registered as Trusts are not eligible to apply.

Organisations may be required to provide a certificate of incorporation or evidence of their current legal status.
