Purpose
General Grants support people and organisations in remote and very remote Australia to overcome challenges caused by distance, isolation, and limited access to opportunities.
Overview
Grants of up to $10,000 for education, training, health, wellbeing, and community-led initiatives that reduce barriers caused by distance and projects that directly benefit people living in Remote or Very Remote communities.
Rounds for 2026 open:
- Round 1: Applications open 1-31 March
- Round 2: Applications open 1-30 June
- Round 3: Applications open 1-30 September

Eligibility
Individuals:
You are eligible to apply if you:
- Live, work, or study in a Remote or Very Remote area of Australia for a minimum of two years
- Are an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- Are seeking support for something that your remoteness makes difficult or impossible to access without financial assistance
- Can demonstrate a meaningful benefit to you or your community
Organisations:
You are eligible to apply if you:
- Are a small to medium registered Not-for-Profit (NFP) organisation with an annual turnover under $3 million
- Are an unincorporated community group supported by an eligible NFP willing to auspice the application
- Deliver activities that directly benefit people living in Remote or Very Remote areas of Australia
- Can demonstrate a clear link between your proposed work and measurable community outcomes
