Purpose

The Stroke Foundation’s Research Program funds annual research grants to promote stroke research capacity and generate new stroke knowledge.

Overview

This grant round includes three funding opportunities:

  1. Seed Grants - supporting early-stage, priority-aligned stroke research
  2. Childhood Stroke Grant - dedicated support for paediatric and childhood stroke research
  3. Future Leader Grants - supporting an individual's leadership and capability development. A special stream focused on aphasia research is supported by the Dr Anna Correll Memorial Fund. Researchers and people with lived experience are encouraged to apply.

Seed Grants:  2027 EMCR Seed Grant Application Form.

Offered to:

  • Early-to Early-Mid-Career Researchers (EMCRs)
  • Grant Value up to $80,000 per grant

Childhood Stroke Grants: 2027 Childhood Stroke Grant Application Form

Offered to: 

  • Rearchers of any career stage.
  • The research must be done in Australia and supported by an Australian university or research body.
  • Grant value up to $80,000

Future Leader Grants:  2027 Future Leader Grant Application Form.

Offered to:

  • EMCRs
  • People with lived experience
  • Grant Value up to $5,000 per grant
