Purpose

The Foundation has offered the Family Medical Care Education and Research (FMCER) grant since 1980, supporting general practitioners in the early stages of their research careers to undertake projects that advance education and research in general practice.

Overview

This grant aims to support an early-career GP researcher to lead an impactful project that generates new insights and drives innovation in general practice. We are particularly interested in projects that:

  • enhance education and research in general practice,
  • support evidence-based improvements to patient care, and
  • contribute to building research capability within Australian primary care.

One grant of up to $20,000 (excluding GST) for a funding period of 12 months.

Eligibility

Eligibility

To be eligible for the FMCER Grant, the principal investigator must be:

  • a general practitioner or general practice registrar, AND
  • an early career researcher.
