Purpose
ANZIC provides grants of up to A$20,000 to researchers from member institutions to study previously collected ocean and land core samples and data to rapidly deliver research outputs.
Overview
ANZIC invites the Australian and New Zealand scientific and educational community to submit proposals for funding to support projects that will advance the field of scientific drilling!
Our Continent & Ocean Research & Education (CORE) Funding replaces our AILAF Grants.
We are looking for innovative proposals that align with research priorities identified by our community during recent workshops and forums.
ANZIC offers funding of up to A$20,000 (for Australian members) NZ$25,000 (for New Zealand members) to researchers studying previously collected ocean and land core samples and data, or research that will aid future drilling initiatives, like site surveys.
We welcome proposals from a diverse range of fields, including data science, mathematics, molecular and genetic analysis, and more. Projects that exploit the extensive data from 56 years of ocean drilling (DSDP/ODP/IODP) and 28 years of continental drilling (ICDP) are especially encouraged.
Eligibility
CORE funding is only available to researchers and educators from ANZIC's Australian and New Zealand member institutions.
