Purpose

Women and Change is Queensland’s first giving circle and was established in 2014 to give women the chance to experience high impact giving.

Overview

Women & Change will consider applications for any demonstrable need, including operational, infrastructure or capacity-building support, where it is clear that philanthropic funding will make a tangible and measurable difference to the quality of life of individuals and communities in Queensland.

Women & Change distributes all member donations received each year. If total donations exceed the $50,000 grant amount, the additional funds may be allocated and shared equally among the remaining finalists. If donations exceed $100,000, two grants of $50,000 will be awarded, and any remaining funds may again be distributed equally among the other finalists.

Preference is given to charities that:

  • Deliver a clearly defined project with measurable outcomes
  • Demonstrate a specific community need
  • Complete the project in the required timeframe

Part-funding of larger projects is permitted, provided:

  • Remaining funds are confirmed
  • The project is ready to commence and must be completed in the calendar year following Voting Night.
