Purpose

This grant supports high-quality, GP-led research that contributes to improving the quality use of medicines in general practice, with a particular focus on the use, implementation and translation of evidence-based clinical guidelines.

Overview

The grant is intended to support early-mid career researchers in general practice to undertake rigorous, practice-relevant research that generates insights with clear potential for translation into everyday clinical care, education, policy, or system-level improvement.

Research is expected to be designed with a clear line of sight to impact, including how findings could inform guideline use, support clinical decision-making, or improve prescribing quality in Australian general practice.

Grant amount:  One grant valued at $100,000 (excluding GST).

Funding period:  18 months

Eligibility

Eligibility:

To be eligible for the Therapeutic Guidelines Research Grant, the principal investigator must:

  • be a general practitioner or general practice registrar, AND
  • have an active leadership role in the project and sufficient experience in leading and conducting research to ensure its successful completion.
