Signature events are key to showcasing their host destination and have a proven track record of drawing audiences beyond the local government area.

Funding helps these events grow and contribute to the visitor economy.

Term

Up to 3 consecutive years, maximum two terms (6 years total). After this period, events should demonstrate growth to progress to Destination Significant funding or may reapply for Signature funding. A one-year break may be required. Continued support is at TEQ's discretion

Events must have been staged at least twice previously (within the last three years) and demonstrate they attract visitors from outside their local government area.

The event must meet the following criteria:

• Be held in the same Queensland destination, it cannot rotate to other locations.
• Destination Signature - be in at least its third or more year,
• must have delivered their most recent event before submitting an application and provide actual event performance data from that event
• Align with the funding round's eligible event dates.
• Clearly demonstrate how the funding will contribute to the growth of tourism outcomes, including increased overnight visitor expenditure.
• Funding request must not exceed 25% of the total cash expenditure budget. For the purposes of Homegrown, cash expenditure excludes in-kind contributions and non cash support.
• The applicant must have an ABN, be either a Corporation registered with ASIC, an Incorporated Association or other body corporate
