Purpose
The Genesis Foundation provides seed capital and strategic support to Christian churches and ministries.
Overview
As part of our vision to see God's Kingdom grow by 2030, we have are particularly interested in receiving Ministry Grant submissions for Bible-based projects in Australia that include the promotion of the message about Jesus and the opportunity for people to respond to Him, and which have a plan to grow to sustainable ministries focused on:
- Youth
- Evangelism
- Community based ministry
The project should be specific and strategic within the mission of the applicant, as part of the growth of the Kingdom of God. The project should proclaim the truth about our living loving God. Once implemented, the project should produce some multiplier effect. The project should plan to become self-funding within the period of the grant.
We no longer support individual churches or ministries outside Australia.
The Genesis Foundation considers grant applications in a two-stage process: a short "Preliminary Enquiry", and if invited, a comprehensive "Grant Submission".
- Complete the online short Preliminary Enquiry Form and submit during the Preliminary Enquiry window (see current submission dates below).
- If successful, you will then be invited to proceed to the comprehensive Grant Submission stage.
Please note: If you are unsure of your eligibility as outlined in these guidelines, please contact Genesis before completing the a Preliminary Enquiry Form. Please make any such contact AFTER 1 July 2026.
Eligibility
The applicant should have a clear understanding of its vision and mission, which is clearly articulated. This mission should be based on their calling by God and thus be based on a Christian motive.
The applicant should demonstrate good corporate governance, strong leadership and professional management principles.
The applicant must be endorsed by the Taxation Office as a Deductible Gift Recipient (Item 1) (DGR) or, if it is not a DGR entity, it must be endorsed as an Income Tax Exempt Charity and Tax Concessional Charity (TCC).
