Purpose

The Rural Bank TAFE scholarship program aims to assist students who have been offered a place at an Australian TAFE to study for the first time in 2024 and are experiencing challenging circumstances.

Overview

The Scholarship program supports the following study related expenses – accommodation costs, course costs (excluding HELP fees and/or HELP loans), study-related materials/equipment, textbooks, tutoring and /or education related travel (within Australia).

The scholarship award value is $3,000 per year for 1 year for each successful recipient, subject to the criteria specified above and satisfactory academic performance.

Applications are encouraged from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people living with a disability, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and those who identify as LGBTQA+.

Limitations

Qualification criteria:

  • You will be a first time TAFE student, studying on a full-time or part-time basis
  • You have been offered a place to commence study in 2026 at an approved Australian TAFE institute campus
  • You will be studying an eligible* agribusiness or agriculture course/qualification (Certificate I, II, III or IV, Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate degree) in an approved Australian course at an Australian TAFE or college campus; You can be studying on campus and/or off campus (including online)
  • You can be of any age to apply for this scholarship - Students under the age of 18 years will require parental/guardian consent to accept this scholarship

Also;

  • You are an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • You are studying an agribusiness, agriculture or related course
  • You can demonstrate leadership both within, and outside, your school community
  • You can demonstrate the challenging circumstances (financial &/or social) hindering your ability to undertake further study; and
  • You can demonstrate academic achievement and community involvement.
