Purpose

The Australian Government is inviting applications in an open process to apply to deliver a National Service for Non-offending Family Members of Child Sexual Abuse Perpetrators (the Service).

Overview

The Service was announced as part of the Australian's Government's National Strategy to Prevent and Respond Child Sexual Abuse 2021-2030 - First National Action Plan, Measure 10, which contributes to Attorney-General's Department's Outcome 1, Program 1.4 Justice Services.

The Service grant program (the program) will run over 3 years from 2026-27 to 2028-29.

The objective of the Service is to reduce child sexual abuse-related harms by providing free, nationally available support for non-offending family members of child sexual abuse perpetrators, and working with other government and non-government agencies, including Commonwealth, state and territory law enforcement, to enhance engagement with this group. The intended outcomes of the grant opportunity are to:

  • support and empower non-offending family members to manage the impacts of child sexual abuse
  • provide non-offending family members with access to high-quality, trauma informed services, resources and coordinated system responses
  • increase awareness and understanding of the needs and impacts on non-offending family members.
