Purpose
Youth Advisory Sessions (YAS) are one-hour, one-on-one sessions with a specialist youth consultant.
Overview
Youth Advisory Sessions are one-hour, one-on-one meetings with a Transition to Work provider in your area. These providers specialise in helping young people into work and training. They also know what's going on in your local job market.
Sessions are flexible and tailored to your needs. You can get advice on:
- job search skills
- writing resumes
- job applications
- job interviews
- your career direction
- education and training options
- local support services.
You can attend up to 3 Youth Advisory Sessions. You can also earn points towards your points target, if you have one.
Sessions can be in-person, over the phone, or by video call. When booking a session, choose the option that best suits you.
You can usually book with the same provider each time. If the provider isn't available or you want to change, you can book with someone else.
Limitations
Eligibility:
To book a session, you must be:
- aged 15 to 24 years
- registered with Workforce Australia Online.
You don't need to receive a Centrelink payment to be eligible.
