Purpose

Our Realising the Potential Artist Laboratory is an opportunity for artists to come together to develop new projects with access embedded from the start.

Overview

Part of Fringe's Radical Access program, the Lab is led by facilitator Caroline Bowditch alongside guest artists and sector leaders. It runs across six days in May 2026 at Fringe Common Rooms in Carlton.

The Lab prioritises Deaf, Disabled and Neurodivergent artists. Non-Disabled artists with a strong inclusive practice are also welcome to apply. Melbourne Fringe believes the responsibility for making the arts more accessible shouldn't fall only on Disabled artists.

Five artists or groups will be selected through an open EOI process, with four spots for Victorian artists and one for an interstate artist. Please read the Info Pack for more details about the Lab and EOI process.
