Grants to bankroll youth health and wellbeing

The Commonwealth Bank has launched its 2014 Community Grants Program, with grants of up to $10,000 available to community groups that are improving the health and wellbeing of young Australians.

This year, the program’s total grant pool is $2 million. Last year, the program supported more than 230 organisations across Australia.

The annual initiative of the Commonwealth Bank Staff Community Fund has awarded more than 900 grants totalling more than $7.6 billion since 2007, the bank said.

Commonwealth Bank community and sustainability general manager Trent Moy said the program had allowed current and retired employees to help fund a range of programs focused on the health and wellbeing of Australian youth.

“We have been privileged to meet some of the country’s most dedicated and inspiring organisations, which we recognise are investing in local communities and helping young Australians in need,” he said.

“This year, our people are delighted to have the opportunity to again support hundreds of community organisations, and we look forward to receiving applications.”

Applications to the 2014 program will remain open until March 14. For more information, as well as links to application criteria, click here.
