Support for landholders, community groups and researchers to improve biodiversity management in the Tweed.
Council assists private land owners, community groups and researchers to carry out projects that contribute to the following ecological priorities within the Tweed:
On-ground implementation
In general on-ground projects will be confined to non-urban zoned land within Tweed Shire and Council support will take the form of;
Community group and research support
Grants are also open to incorporated community groups and researchers for projects that address the program objectives and lead to improved biodiversity management or policy within Tweed Shire.
If you are interested in this opportunity please contact Council as detailed below. The first step in this process will be an appraisal of your proposal including a site inspection (where necessary) and discussion on works and outcomes that are possible and acceptable to all parties.
Selection process
Expressions of interest for funding can be made throughout the year. Eligibility will be based on factors such as funds available, ecological benefits, value for money, technical capability, recipient commitment, site security and ongoing maintenance requirements.
